The fruit for this wine is sourced from the Vrede en Lust Elgin farm, Casey’s Ridge. Most Rieslings are consumed when they are young showing the most aromatic characteristics.

Winemakers Notes The grapes are hand picked at different sugar levels and transported to Vrede en Lust in 500 kg bins. The grapes are crushed, pressed. The juice are inoculated and fermentation monitored daily. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation was stopped at the desired sugar levels, resulting in an elegant, off-dry style wine.

Tasting Notes The Riesling is an elegantly styled and fragrant wine with notes of honey and minerals followed by lingering citrus flavours.

Food Pairings The Early Mist Riesling will be the perfect match for hot and cold smoked salmon or smoked trout.

Technical Notes Cultivars: Riesling (100%)

Ageing potential Enjoy now or within 1 year from vintage

Winemaker Karlin Nel; Wine of origin: Elgin

Packaging: 750ml; Alcohol %: 12.5; Residual Sugar (RS): 5.6 g/l; Total Acid (TA): 7.1 g/l; pH: 2.99

A highly terroir expressive cultivar, this Riesling is produced in a typical German kabinett style with an off-dry residual sugar.
